Evening on board Coral Princess
The smoke from the ship was quite pronounced this evening.
Then it it was time to get changed for dinner. Everyone else seemed to be having the same idea and we stopped for a drink at the bar in the Atrium while we waited for the queue to go down. I tried the German beer that was being promoted as part of the ship’s Octoberfest celebration.
We were on a table for eight with just the two of us an one other couple. We sat for a while as the waiters waited to see if anyone else would join us on the table. Our table companions were from San Francisco and we continued our conversations where we had left off when we had sat together earlier in the week.
I chose goats cheese, a Caesar salad, the trio of meats and then creme brulle as dessert.
The entertainment for the evening started later at 10 pm in the Universe Lounge. This was the comedian who had joined us late at Puerta Vallarta. The lounge was only a quarter full and I made the classic mistake of sitting close to the front. Dan Grueber was very funny and he like most comedians on board did pick on audience members.
The retired gentlemen from Boeing was picked on after he told everyone he had been at R&D there. Dan asked him which college he’d been to. aThe poor then admitted that he’d never having been to college. Then he became the butt of jokes about which planes he’d helped to design.
Once back in our room we had received the disembarkation details – a timely reminder that the cruise was coming to an end.
