This was almost a re-run of our 2024 day in London when we went on the Thames and then went for a meal at Marco Pierre White’s steakhouse. However, this time we chose to eat in the early evening which left us with more time for the boat ride.
The bookings were via Virgin Experiences again.
Leake Street
For the other art on the 3rd go to this blog.
PS I have a dedicated Street Art feed on Instagram here.
River boat cruise
From Leake Street we crossed over York Street and walked to the pier next to the London Eye. After a short wait we were away for our trip down to Greenwich and back.
Greenwich
We left the boat at Greenwich. The boart would be returning up river after about a 30 minute break for the crew. The street from the pier was full of coaches an and pallets of luggage from the moored Viking ship. The Cutty Sark is a truly impressive ship but we didn’t have enough time for a proper visit.
We called into the posh bakery for coffees and cakes.
Back to Westminster
We left the boat at Westminster Pier to catch the Circle Line to Liverpool Street.
Brick Lane
We still had a lot of time before our booking at the steakhouse. After a number of false starts I did manage to speak to the restaurant and move our booking forward by an hour.
The London Steakhouse
The steakhouse is always a welcoming restaurant and once seated we could relax and enjoy the second part of our booking.
Then it was back to Waterloo for our train to Farnborough.
