In July 2022 we went to the MK Gallery to see a collection of Vivian Maier’s work.

I first heard about Vivian Meier at one of my camera club’s mono group’s talks about famous photographers. I have subsequently seen the documentary film about her and her work on Amazon Prime. This book describes how her work was discovered and revealed to the world interspersed with what is known about her life.

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Vivian Maier’s life and her work.
The gallery allowed visitors to take photographs of the displayed work and below I have put examples of the images that I took. I am hoping to see more published collections of her work (at a reasonable price) being made available. I have reduced the size of the images and make no apology for any reflections or their quality.
I want a wider audience to see how her work has inspired my photography.

THESE IMAGES ARE NOT MY IMAGES AND SHOULD NOT BE COPIED OR REPRODUCED.

Some of her self portraits.
This image held my attention for a long time trying to disassemble the layers of reflections.

The last gallery had a collection of her 8mm movies playing on the walls.
