Tuesday 7th July was my second Summer 2026 organised street photography walk in London for members of Farnborough Photography Club (FPC.) We met at Farnborough Main for the 9:32 train to Waterloo. We were early enough to catch the 9:17 as the 9:32 was delayed again this time by over 15 minutes.
Leake Street then Lower Marsh Street

The other images of the street art can be found here.

We went for a coffee and sat in the sunshine in the small yard at the back.

South Bank
We walked through the tunnels around the IMAX cinema. The guys on ropes painting this wall definitely have a job for the Summer!

On the beach
After some very steep steps we walked along the beach towards the OXO building. Back up those steps we walked until we found another open set of steps. We could then walk under Blackfriars Bridge.

Back up on the paths…

Alms Houses on Hopton Street
We decided to give Tate Modern and the Millennium Bridge a miss and instead turned down Hopton Street to reach the Alms Houses.

My earlier visit here had been in November and more of the houses were visible.

Southwark Road
From Hopton Street we turned left on Southwark Road. Away from the river the temperature felt as though it had jumped lots of degrees. The queue outside this deli was being organised so that the pavement was not blocked.

We stopped at the first Pret a Manger for lunch and sat outside in the shade. The delis that we had passed were all crowded but Pret had no queues.

Borough Market
For the second visit into London I found myself in Borough Market. Again it was rammed with people and the temperature felt as though it climbed even more as we walked past the stalls.
Southwark Road
Southwark Road was very busy with students and parents walking back from their graduation ceremony.

Now it was time for long exposure sots of the passing traffic and bikes.

Shard Place

Down to London Bridge Station.
The line to Waterloo was still open.
