Before I met up with David Rutter in the City I made a quick call to the Leake Street tunnel. It was early on Saturday morning and I was one of the few people in the tunnel.
Waterloo Station
While I waited for my friend to arrive I had a coffee on the mezzanine. Looking down I watched three guys with their bikes leave the station. We would meet a lot of their colleagues later in the day!
Royal Exchange
The Waterloo-Bank line was closed as it was the weekend and we found ourselves on the Central Line, inside graffiti and all!
We watched the passers by (and the flowers) as we waited outside the exchange.
Pope’s Head Alley
After a short walk our first stop was at Pope’s Head Alley.
No 1 Poultry
Turning into this space revealed a raised water feature overlooked by open sky! Time now for water reflections.
In the pub below drinks were now being served.
The light was now coming into the space.
King Street and the 2025 “Tweed Run”
As we walked up Cheapside from One Poultry we had to cross King Street. At the traffic light we could hundreds of cyclists – this was the 2025 Tweed Run.
The riders kept coming and having to queue at the lights.
Honey Lane
Then we stopped for more reflections at Honey Lane and then onto Trump Street.
One New Change
At One New Change we explored the lower levels of the shopping mall as well as the ground floor and the stairs.
The Guildhall
From New Change we headed North to the Barbican via Wood Lane and London’s Guildhall.
I had a brief stop to photograph a group of tourists who had been struggling to take a group picture.
Coleman Street
The Barbican
We weren’t the only group exploring the Barbican.
Baker Street Underground
AN interesting pace to be on a Saturday afternoon – lots of Transport Police and football fans all mixed up with tourists and shoppers alike.
The poster for the latest show at Riverside Studios made an interesting backdrop.

Then that was the end of the workshop and we headed off back to Waterloo.
