On Tuesday 2nd December 2025 I visited the street art exhibition by Søren Solkær on the Old Brompton Road in Kensington.
Leake Street arches
Once at Waterloo I went through The Sidings to Leake Street to see the changes of street art there.

At last a change on the overpass.

This is my dedicated Street Art feed on Instagram.

After some rain we now have reflections again…
And here are the Christmas trees…
South Kensington
After the Jubilee Line and the Westbound District Line I reached South Kensington station. I had time for lunch at a very busy Pret a Manger.

After lunch the gallery was only a short walk down the Old Brompton Road. The fist two windows were the Surface exhibition then the next windows were another Banksy exhibition. There was a small queue as I entered and I asked was this for Surface? I did apologise for being early but I was told it didn’t matter. The people queueing were for the Banksy and after scanning my ticket I was hustled past the gift shop selling “Banksy memorabilia” to a folding screen.

At the screen I was asked to squeeze past between the screen and the wall and taken to a desk at the top of an almost empty gallery. The guy behind the desk told where to go for the exhibition and then to come back to watch the 30 minute film.
The exhibition was in two galleries upstairs and then in an enormous basement downstairs. I was the only person in the upstairs galleries.
The photographer had managed to photograph street artists from all over the world and included their art in the images. There were street artists that I hadn’t heard of. The images had been taken over a few years. Next to each print was a QR code that linked to a full description of the artist.
Here are a couple of the images:

I watched the 30 minute film about the making of the exhibition. In the film there were flashes of Søren’s career photographing film and music portraits. These are well worth looking at on his website.
When I left I was still the only person in the whole exhibition!
I stop at the “Banksy memorabilia” shop but did not see anything that I would to buy 🙁 . Outside in one of the windows visitors had paid £18 to use spray paints on a stencil to emulate Banksy.

Kendrick Place

I crossed the Old Brompton Road as I could see some art at the end of Kendrick Place. In the mews at the end were car showrooms selling old cars.
Bute Street or Little France
The next street as I walked back to the station was Bute Street. This pedestrianised street has the nickname of “Little France”. I passed groups of teenagers all speaking French so perhaps the name was correct. On the street were the promised French cafes and bakeries.
