We planned to go to the London Steakhouse for an early evening meal and and added a trip on the London Eye.
Leake Street Tunnel
On our way to the Eye there was time for a quick look at the street art in the Leake Street tunnel.

The puddle at the entrance had enough water left for close reflections…

The wall opposite the entrance had its own art today.

London Eye
From Leake Street and crossing over York Street it is a short walk to the Eye.
We had priority boarding tickets and had a much shorter queue. The bag search was very cursory as was the body search before we stopped by the fence to wait for a capsule. Once in the capsule we were the only ones standing by the window as everyone else had chosen to sit in the middle. Air conditioning having priority over the views…
We may have been very warm by the window but the views were fantastic. The curved glass did leave is mark on some of the images above! WE watched the quick security check of the capsules when everyone had left, or perhaps it was for left items?

The London Steakhouse
We were “lucky” and caught a Circle Line train at Westminster that would take us all the way to Liverpool Street. From there we walked a different way to the restaurant…

… and as usual we were early! We were able to have an early table and settled down to enjoy.

The meal was from an offer on Virgin Experiences. This experience at The London Steakhouse was for a four course meal plus fizz on arrival.
Everyone at the restaurant are friendly and make such an incredible effort to make guests feel welcome – one of the many reasons I keep coming back.
To the main course of steak we added fries and creamed spinach (both extra).
The Maître D’ was concerned at Linda’s plate having steak left and offerred to find a replacement – wow… I had to explain that I’d be finishing it, which produced lots of good humour!
This was a warm Thursday evening and the pubs were overflowing on the pavements as we walked back to Bishopsgate.
My plan was to round the day off with a visit to Horizon 22 and have some more views of London. But the gallery was closed for a private party.
