On Saturday 6th November I had time before the street walk, organised by Sigma UK, to see art in the tunnel for the second time in a week. Then after the walk I visited the visit the Photographers Gallery to see the William Eggleston art exhibition.

Victoria Embankment Gardens
The Southern train from Waterloo East to Charing Cross was full of commuters – I am usually going the other way on empty trains to London Bridge. Then down Villiers Street to the gardens to wait for the walk to start. To save embarrassment I had left my other cameras at home and instead had my vintage IXUS 75 in my pocket. Images from the IXUS are mixed up with iPhone17Pro images below.
I met Ed, from Sigma, by the York Gate and selected a 50mm lens for the FP2.
Here are the images from my morning with the Sigma FP2.

At the top of Upper St Martin’s Lane on the walk’s way to Seven Dials…

The walk ended in Piccadilly Circus and rather than head off back to Waterloo I walked up to the Photographer’s Gallery by way of Carnaby Street.

Next I stopped at the nearby Pret for a lunch. After seeing the offer on the rolling ads I changed from a sandwich to a toastie.
Then I was told the offer was only for toasties that did NOT have cheese on the outside. Ok, no problemI swapped the toastie for a plain one. Then when I came to pay the bill was £8.55 rathern the advertised £6.99. From another member of staff I was told that the ad hadn’t been changed and the offer was no longer available!
Back to the gallery, the Eggleston exhibition was on the 4th and 5th floors.
William Eggleston – All that goes unnoticed

In one section visitors were asked to draw one of the photographs…
The process for the dye prints from Egglestons transparemncies was a 17 minute video. Here it is in full…
Oxford Street
From the gallery I walked up to Oxford Street and was greeted by chaos. A long queue of buses and taxis waiting to turn right. The pavement was closed and the space at the junction was full of two way pedestrians only adding to the chaos and confusion.
The Underground station was now a “one way” so one set of gates are out and the set is for entry to the platforms. This added a few more steps to my day’s total. I had a 20 minute wait for the next train to Farnborough.
