We had had an enjoyable day in Porto, especially as our excursion had taken us to a different part of the city. In Lisbon I was finally going on street art walk with a local guide. After Lisbon we had another sea day that would take us to the Portuguese island of Madeira.
Day 5: Wednesday 26th March 2025: Porto, Lisbon
Spirt of Adventure was scheduled to arrive at about 8am. My plan was to walk from the dock to the start of the street walk. The Captain, however, had decided that as it was such a beautiful morning he would delay the ship’s arrival to give everyone time to soak in the views as the ship sailed up the River Tagus.
I was sat by the exit from before 9 am waiting for the ship to receive clearance to let passengers leave. I lost count of the number of helpful ship’s crew came and asked me if I was OK and why was I sitting by the exit. Literally as soon as permission was given to leave the ship I dashed off and down through walkways yo the terminal. I was in luck as there was just one taxi there.
Street Art walk around Lisbon
To be added…
Walked back down to the dock, not easy!
Back into Lisbon

After a late lunch we left the ship and walked alongside the Tagus into Lisbon.
We walked up through the pedestrianised streets to the squares before turning back to the wards the river.
Leaving Lisbon
The Portuguese Navy ship was still in the wide river as we passed.

Bon Adams
After dinner went to see Bon Adams. A tribute band that played the music of Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams.
Day 6: Thursday 27th March 2025: At sea
After my long walk around Lisbon the day before I planned to take it easy as the ship sailed South.
In the afternoon I was out on the top deck joining in the search for sea life around the ship.
Then at last a pod of dolphins appeared when I was out on the deck.
Bon Adams in the Britannia Lounge
After dinner we headed up to the Britannia Lounge and managed to get seats at the side of the dance floor. Bon Adams were performing again. This set of music covered other artists and gave everyone lots of opportunity to dance.
Our next port was Funchal on the island of Portuguese Madeira.
