On Thursday 16th October 2025, I was invited to join members of the ImageZ Camera Club at a studio in High Wycombe for a photo shoot organised by Brian Worley. This was the second time that I had been on a photo shoot with Alicia, the first being back in 2023.
Alicia is on Instagram as @my_little_goth_model. The theme for the evening was Halloween.
Studio88′s parking was rather difficult to find in the dark on Kitchener Road. As it turned out leaving the car park and reversing back onto Kitchener Road, dodging the parked cars on both sides and opposite was an even bigger problem! Plus contending with the extremely impatient motorists who were not happy with me blocking the road as I was trying to squeeze out!
The studios were then down the steep unlit Leigh Street.
I started with my EF 70-200 f/2.8 L lens mounted with an RF adapter. At first I had a lot of trouble focussing as the lens switch was set to 2.5m to infinity. Setting to 1.2m to infinity was the very easy fix. The setup grew to three studio lights and I was adjusting each of the lights’ power on my trigger. Plus adjusting the ISO and aperture in manual mode as required.
For the last 45 minutes we switched to the bed which had sheets of gauze netting along with handfuls of plastic spiders. This was going to be a test of the focusing of my camera – would it retain focus on Alicia’s eyes? I switched to my RF 80mm F/2 lens.
