Today I received notification that my application for Projected Image Division Color Award of Merit – Star 2 had been accepted by the PSA.
For this award of merit I had to have received at least 36 acceptances from at least 12 titles. In my list of submitted salon acceptances, 20 were verified by the PSA.

Comment on the award
Earlier in January I had received the award of Projected Image Division Color Award of Merit Star 1. This award builds on the 6 already accepted titles and 33 acceptances.
I had more errors in this submission that on any other:
- two acceptances not found in the database (will follow up with salons)
- one acceptance yet to be logged with the PSA by the exhibition
- five acceptances noted as being in the Star 1 application
- twelve acceptances not approved as no more than 20 acceptances are approved in a star path, clearly my misreading of the rules of star paths
I now have 16 titles and 53 acceptances.
Please see my separate post about applying for PSA Merit Awards. (Not available yet)
Dedication
This award is dedicated to my friend and colleague from Bracknell Camera Club – Ron Gaffney LRPS CPAGB PSA(*4) BPE2. Ron had encouraged my photography of aircraft and shared his own experiences over the years. In my first year I attended a club workshop where Ron had laid out how to enter international salons and the importance of record keeping. Over the next years, I joined him entering international salons and we shared our successes as well as mutual encouragement.
Sadly Ron would have been one of the first people that I would have told about this award and his encouragement and support has now to be only a memory.
