We were in Yorkshire with family and friends initially staying in the middle of Harrogate before staying for a long weekend at Nidd Hall.
The car was rammed for just the two of us for the five nights away. Earlier four of us gone to Normandy for a week and the car had had space to spare!

Wednesday 6th August 2025: Harrogate
After a couple of stops on the way to Harrogate we drove on to visit Stump Cross Caverns. On our visit in 2023 we had gone into the caverns but this visit was just to have a late lunch.
Back in Harrogate we had a struggle to find the rented house that we were all staying in. After ringing the help line we found the back of the house. We’d missed the small notice on the parking space.

The house had had lots of work to convert it into a rental property close to the conference centre. This was across the road from the front of the building.
The kitchen/dining area was another set of steps down for the dining room. AT the front there was a door out to the front parking place from the kitchen. Plus there was a door from the level of the dining room down steps to the parking area. Upstairs there were 2 floors of bedrooms and bathrooms.
Dinner at the Mykonos restaurant

Our evening meal was at the Mykonos restaurant only a short walk away from the house.
What a friendly restaurant and the food was superb – we would all highly recommend.
Thursday 7th August 2025: Harrogate
After our busy day we went to The Pickled Sprout for dinner.
Again we had an excellent meal with really helpful servers. I had eaten my scallop starter before I remembered to take a picture – it was so good!
Friday 8th August 2025: Harrogate
Our eating out spree continued with breakfast at the Farmhouse. I was overjoyed to see my favourite breakfast on the menu – Huevos Rancheros.
We had time to spare before leaving for Nidd Hall – time for some window shopping…

Nidd Hall
Nidd Hall was an easy drive away from the centre of Harrogate. We were lucky to have a reserved parking place quite near our ground floor room at the back of the site. This visit we had booked all our meals in the Brasserie 32 restaurant rather than in the main dining room(s).
The evening’s entertainment was provided by the house band (Northern Lights with Jodie Wilson) and followed by “Forever Donna” performed by Destiny Michele.
Saturday 9th August 2025: Knaresborough
After parking we walked up and down the main street. This art was at the side of the theatre.

At the castle ruins we could look down on the river and railway viaduct below.

Lunch was in the Six Poor Folk.

Before we left we bought vanilla squares which we promptly ate!

Saturday 9th August 2025: Nidd Hall
Back at Nidd Hall we did a circuit of the grounds.
Saturday 9th August 2025: Ray Lewis – Still Drifting and his band
Ray Lewis and his band were the lead act on Saturday evening.

This is the church that we passed on the way back to our cottage room at around 11:30.

Sunday 10th August 2025: Nidd Hall

After our rather hectic few days we stayed at Nidd Hall and had a day of rest.
We sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine listening to music from one of Nidd Hall’s singers.
I did manage to catch an image of the RAF BBMF Lancaster as he flew over us at 3:50pm.

The after dinner show was by Nidd Hall’s entertainers and was a round up of musicals. A very good show to round our weekend off.
The following morning we drove home.
