On Saturday 29th August 2025, the plan was to join David’s workshop in in Shard Place in the morning and then onto Canary Wharf.
Leake Street Arches
After arriving at Waterloo my day in London started in the Leake Street arches.

More of my images from this morning are in this blog.
The Sidings
It was still raining when I left the arches and headed back for breakfast.

After reflections in my favourite puddle at the entrance to the arches I waited to see if there were any more to be found on the path back to the station.
I ate breakfast in the Lion and Unicorn in Waterloo’s Sidings. While I ate there was a fire alarm and a continuous stream of announcements to clear the station. The staff diddn’t seem to concerned I stayed at my table. I did check that I had a fire exit 20 metres away “just in case”.

When I had finished breakfast the emergency must have been over and I made way to Waterloo East to catch a train to London Bridge.
London Bridge
Shard Place
After joining David and the rest of the group we stayed around Shard Place and the entrances to London Bridge station.

Borough Market
Before we walked down to the market I experimented with reflections on the High Street under the railway bridge.

Into the arches past the Market

Canary Wharf
We had discussions with a security guard about street photography. Other guards we had encountered had been happy to be photographed and had been interested in our images…

ANother place to visit for slow shutter speeds but with an ND filter.

Tower Hill Station
From Tower Bridge Approach we went down to Tower Bridge Plaza on the footpath leads to The Postern Gate.
