After the South Bank yesterday this third and final day of Valérie Jardin’s 2025 London workshop took us around Soho and Chinatown.
I was early enough at Waterloo to not only visit Leake Street again but to have breakfast at The Sidings’ Wetherspoon, the Lion and the Unicorn.

From FUJIFILM HOP:
[Option to go right to the alley with mirrors – Conduit Court]>> Left to the junction, then Great Newport Street
>> Over Charing Cross Road, opposite walk down Newport Court
>> CHINATOWN
>> Right the left along Gerrard Street
>> MEETING PLACE – Macclesfield Street
>> Along GERRARD to Wardour Street, right to Dansey Place for resting cooks/waiters and the noodle factory doorway; left to Rupert Court
>> Back down LISLE STREET, look for Beijing Dumpling window
>> Up Macclesfield Street, over Shaftesbury Avenue onto DEAN STREET
>> Left Old Compton Road, at end right then over and left to BREWER STREET
>> Right on WALKERS COURT [look up to glass bridges]
>> Opposite over Peter Street onto the BERWICK STREET MARKET
>> Meet Back at Peter Street junction , left to Wardour Street, right and then left back on Old Compton Street
>> Walk down Old Compton Street until MOOR STREET on the right, then Cambridge Circus
>> Opposite is EARLHAM STREET and a small market (up Shaftesbury Avenue then on the right)
>> SEVEN DIALS
>> On Earlham Street is the Seven Dials Market – option for lunch
>> Down Earlham Street to Neal Street, cross Long Acre, down James Street to Covent Garden
>> COVENT GARDEN
>> A scenic way back to FUJIFILM HOP would be down King Street, right into Floral Court and keep going straight, over Floral Street to Conduit Place, through the mirrors & light alleyway and back on Long Acre
>> FUJIFILM HOP for end of workshop reviews
Chinatown
Once in Chinatown I headed for Dansey Place.
The noodle factory…
We were initially a little worried about being in Chinatown so early in the morning. But instead of tourists we had lots of people delivering goods, setting up restaurants and generally preparing for a busy day.

Soho
Seven Dials
I sat under the Seven Dials and watched the world walk past…

Lunch in the Seven Dials Market
Neal Street
The practical part of the workshop was almost over and I headed back to the HOP via Covent Garden. I stopped on Neal Street to watch the rolling advertisements and passers by.

Covent Garden
Covent Garden was very busy as it was 1 pm.

Spot the road bollards…

From Long Acre I explored around the TK Maxx and onto Floral Street.
Then we all met downstairs at the HOP for the review of our chosen images – the final part of the workshop.

These were the images that I chose from the first two days of the workshop.
Final drink

We found a table downstairs in The Porterhouse pub.
I walked down to the Strand and caught the No 139 bus back to Waterloo. This rickshaw trundled over Waterloo Bridge slowing us all down.
