On the 17th June I visited the Mayfield Lavender Farm with colleagues from Farnborough Photographic Club. Immediately we realised that we were a little early in the season. Not only were there less than a dozen cars parked but we could only see a handful of other visitors. Plus sadly the Airstream Cafe was not yet open.

Another indication of just how early we were, was that the lavender was not covered in bees! But the bees were the wild poppies.
At the Airstream these were my selphies …

At the top of the field the lavender gave way to a meadow of flowers and amongst these poppies I found more bees.

In the distance from the Mayfield Farm is Croydon.

The Airstream… Always photogenic.

The tree close to the Airstream…

Sadly neither the pizza van or the hot dog chalet were open – maybe next visit?
Finally we sat and enjoyed a coffee before leaving.
