Open seas:
Times of passing ships:

The previous day we had crossed the Arctic Circle on our way South. MS Nordkapp arrived into Trondheim in the early morning and the day promised visits to Kristiansund and to Molde, which were both places that we had visited before.

Trondheim – arriving 6:30am

Walking around Trondheim was very easy – no ice or snow unlike our previous visit on Spirit of Discovery.
Our walk back on the footbridge over the railway was easy now there was no ice!
By 9:15 we were back on MS Nordkapp.
MS VesterĂ¥len

The boat crew on MS Nordkapp took the opportunity to practice their skills while we were in harbour.
Monk Island
HNoMS MĂ¥løy – 11:10am
We passed, HNoMS MĂ¥løy , one of the Norwegian Navy’s Oksøy-class mine hunters.

After Trondheim
The Agdenes Lighthouse or Ringflua is a lighthouse in the Trondheimsfjord

We took went to the stren and tried the hot tubs…
Then it was time for coffees and cake.
Grønningen Lighthouse – 2:50pm
In the middle of the afternoon we passed Grønningen Lighthouse. The lighthouse marks the channel into Kristiansund.
Expedition Team briefing
In the briefing we had our usual taste of music from one of the day’s ports and another update about the (bad) weather.
Back out side we watched as MS Nordkapp passed another lighthouse – the Tjöme Färder lighthouse.
We were now approaching Kristiansund.
Kristiansund – arriving at 4:30 pm
This was the street that we had walked up on our unscheduled stop on Saga’s Spirit of Discovery.
We went ashore and were pleased to find that the shops were all open!
In the small shopping mall we went into the state liquor store and I bought a bottle of Cloudberry liquor. This had been my favourite addition to fizz after my work visits to Sweden. Just as on our earlier visit there was an oil supply vessel docked.
Back along the harbour we stopped by the statues.
Evening Meal – 8pm
For the first time we had an empty table at the side of us,
but the rest of the restaurant was just as busy. The weather was getting rough just as promised .
Molde – arriving at 9:15 pm
Once off the ship in Molde we had to rush along Storgata as I wanted to take more images of the jazz musician statues. This was a brief 30 minute stop.
In the same square was a sculpture “Togetherness”.
Our walk back along the waterside to MS Nordkapp.

This is the Reception area after first baoarding the ship.
From the ship this was Molde after we left.
Havilla ship – 10:11pm
The sea was rough and we headed back down to our cabin. The next day was our last day of the Coastal Voyage when we reached Bergen.
