This is the fourth day of the Hurtigruten Coastal Express going North. After our stop in Trondheim, today we crossed the Arctic Circle on our way to Bodø.
Open sea warning summary
Brønnøysund – arrive 1:35 am
I was up in the early morning for Nordkapp’s visit to Brønnøysund.
The ramps going down.

Sandnessjøen – arrive 4:35 am

After a few hours sleep I was out on deck for Sandnessjøen.
Nesna arrive – 6 am
The next stop was at Nesna. Nor much sleep since since Sandnessjøen!

Then Nordkapp ran into a brief flurry of snow!

Crossing the Arctic Circle

MS Nord Norge
Ørnes – 10 am
Out on deck early for Ørnes.
Spectacular views of the mountains behind.
We did have time to step off the ship in Ørnes.
The spectacular views continued after Nordkapp left Ørnes.
Crossing the Arctic Ceremony
Now it was the time for Crossing the Arctic Circle Ceremony. We all gathered on deck and King Neptune appeared above us.
We did not join the queue to have ice put down our backs!
We did go into the Brygga bistro and treat ourselves to coffee and a cake.
This is just one of the photo collages around Nordkapp.
Bodø – 1:05 pm

Bodø was the port of the day.
We left Nordkapp and walked into Bodo. There was a lot of snow on the pavements and the roads. Along the road we passed street art…
… and across the road in a “yard” were these street art paintings.
On Storgata.
On Professor Schyttes Gate…
On Sangata…
And on crossroads on Donninggens Gate…
We took a short cut from Storgata to Sjogata on the way back to the ship and in the snow filled yard we walked through…
Back to Nordkapp docked in Bodø
Nordkapp berthed.
Landegode Lighthouse
Stamsund – 7-15 pm
Will hopefully see more of Stamsund on the journey South!
Evening Meal – 8 pm
MS Havilla Capella
I went out on deck in the middle of the evening meal to see MS Havilla Capella pass by.>

And then back inside for dessert.

Svolvær – 9:20 pm
The next port was Svolvaer. Off the ship we explored the area around where Nordkapp had docked.
Trollfjord

The weather was OK for Nordkapp to visit the mouth of Trollfjord.
Nordkapp came to a complete stop and the ship’s floodlights were used to “paint” the sides of the fjord.
The next day we were scheduled to spend time in Tromsø.
