Essential information: The return journey will be via the same route. Any walking is at each passenger’s own discretion. This tour involves several tunnels.
We now knew the procedure for excursions and made our way to the theatre. This was a busy excursion and we sat on our designated row waiting. Above and below us were other rows of passengers also waiting to be called to the coaches.
The road has lots of twists and turns and the driver had to cope with cars, trucks and worse of all were the camper vans. After a long drive we reached the Bjorli ski resort. There we were driven around the car park without stopping!
Next the coach took us to the nearby railway station. This is on the Raumabanen railway.
Trains from here went all the way South a few times a day.
The last stop was in the car park at the bottom of the Troll Wall. This is the tallest rock face in Europe. Between the rocks and the car park were the train tracks.
A train roared past just as we were boarding the coach.
Afternoon and leaving Åndalsnes
Over dinner, we learnt from our table companions how different their are excursions had been. Some had stopped at the ski resort and not the station. Some had not even stopped at the Troll Wall. Or, had stopped at the Wall for only a few minutes.
We relaxed in the Living Room listening to the strings after our busy day Then on the bed were our tickets for the Flåm Railway.
