
This was the second round of the Print Trophy competition of the season held on January 15th 2026. This round had “Open” and “Mono” as themes.
For each image I had to choose a roughly defined “genre” with the added condition that each submitted image must have a different “genre”.
The Photographer
On our Coastal Voyage in February 2024 we were on our way South when the ship docked in Vardø in the late afternoon. Lead by one of the expedition team we went to explore the Vardøhus Fortress. The sun was setting and this was one of the many silhouettes that I took of people on the fortress ramparts.
I selected “Street” as the genre . . .

Umbrella reflections
Before a workshop in August 2025 I visited the Leake Street arches to check out the latest street art. As I walked back alongside Waterloo’s Sidings there was a very large puddle and this lady was walking towards me. She was Japanese and I was lucky to capture her reflection along with her umbrella,
I selected “Abstract” as the genre…
