After Haugesund our second and last port in Norway was Ålesund.
Day 18: Saturday 15th July 2023: Ålesund, Norway
After breakfast in the buffet we left Island Princess and walked out of the port area. We paid for a ride on the tourist “train” as this would take us up to the viewpoint on Aksala mountain. The 400+ steps had always “stopped” us from visiting on earlier visits! The trip was scheduled to start at 10 am.

After a short wait we boarded the train.
At the top we left the train and walked to the viewpoints that overlooked Ålesund from Aksala mountain.
On the way down we could see the Hurtigruten ship leaving Ålesund.
Coffee time!
In the small coffee shop on the corner of Slinningsgata we had coffee and cakes.

Once back on the ship we had a late lunch from the Grill.

The ship’s clock went back an hour ready for our arrival in Lerwick.
