This was the second round of the Print Competition at Bracknell Camera Club in the 2025-26 season held on October 13th 2025. This was a round with a theme of “Twisted” with two images allowed to be entered.
Ready to whirl
Looking back through my catalogues I found this image of Kate Byrne. This was taken at a workshop in May 2021 and was my first after the Covid lockdowns. Equally stressful was that this was the first time that I had really used my new mirrorless camera as Covid restrictions had restricted its use outside of home. Kate was in the small studio below the main dance floor of the studio and was posing using the red sheet suspended from the ceiling. The image had been left on my disk due to the rather scrappy background. For this competition a bit of editing tidied up the top right corner to take away the wall behind.

Barbed post
I wanted a picture of barbed wire and in the woods close to our house I found this post with wraps of barbed wire. It was between the public woods and the farmer’s field. It seemed appropriate to make it a black and white image.
