This was our first visit to València and we were well rested after our day at sea the day before.
Day 9 Sunday 13th October 2024: València, Spain
After breakfast in the Deck 6 restaurant, we joined the queue for a shuttle bus into València. Being Sunday we do not expect many shops to be open. However, we were surprised about where the shuttle was dropped us on the Avenue del Professor Lopez Pinero. Rather than close to the centre (or so we thought) we left the bus at the side of a futuristic building and on the side of a wide busy road. There had been no maps in the cruise terminal and none available as we left the shuttle. We walked along the road until we came to a roundabout and access to the park below.
We followed the crowd who walked along the pavement away from the stop. We eventually came to a pedestrian crossing and alongside a map of Valencia. One problem, the map didn’t have even a simple “you are here” . We guessed where we were by the large green space in front of us and the buildings we had already walked past.
Once in the park we walked along the wide paths to the buildings…
Along the path we came to a group of stalls and a large tent with a bar – time for a rest!
Everyone was working preparing food. We just had a drink and watched the world pass by.
The peace was disturbed by a marching drum band.
The park had bridges as roads crisscrossed over, These spaces were not as well kept.
These bridges had street art.
We were not walking parallel to the museum along a dirty stream…
The buildings were magnificent…
Skate Board competition
We could hear cheering and following the noise we came to a large space with a stand of benches facing an arena filled with obstackes. After a cursory bag search we walked in to watch the competition.

After dinner we went to the Club House to watch the comedian, Jack Glanville 10pm show.
Back in our cabin we were kept awake till nearly 1am by the antics of kids on the promenade deck below.
Our next port was Barcelona.
