An enjoyable day in Lisbon after two full sea days

August 2024: Bordeaux and Portugal: Dover and two sea days
This was our first departure from Dover and then we had two sea days before our first port
May 2024: Italy and the Western Mediterranean: Gibraltar
Our first port was Gibraltar and we took an an organised tour around the rock
May 2024: Western Mediterranean: Russian Navy
After leaving Gibraltar we passed a group of five Russian Navy ships
May 2024: Italy and the Western Mediterranean: Portsmouth
After leaving Portsmouth we had three days on Spirit of Discovery as we sailed South to the Mediterranean

February 2023: Arctic Norway and the Northern Lights: Åndalsnes and a sea day

This display of the Aurora Borealis was visible with the naked eye and was spectacular

Our day in Kristiansund was another unscheduled stop due to the bad weather above the Arctic Circle and in the evening we had a display of the Aurora Borealis
February 2023: Artic Norway and the Northern Lights: North Sea after Trondheim
After Trondheim we set sail for Alta missing out Tromso, then after some very rough seas the ship turned back and our visit to Alta was cancelled. Mid-afternoon a Norwegian Coastguard helicopter came and picked up an ill passenger.
